Terms of Service
Effective November 2, 2026
These terms apply when you book or receive a repair from Encinitas E-Bike Repair ("we", "us"). By approving a quote, you agree to them.
Quotes and pricing
- Every visit has a $25 trip fee and a $75 visit minimum (trip fee included). The trip fee is waived for three or more bikes at the same address.
- We quote labor and parts before starting, by text, and start work once you approve it in writing. If we find something that changes the price, we stop and ask before doing more.
- Electrical diagnostics are $85, credited toward the repair if you approve it.
- Prices on this site can change; the quote you approved is the price you pay.
Parts
We supply common parts from our own stock and order others as needed. Special-order parts are paid for before we order them and can't be refunded once ordered, unless the part is defective. If you supply your own parts, we'll install them, but we can't warranty the part itself or labor caused by it failing.
Your part
- Have the bike where we agreed, with the key and charger if they're needed.
- Give us a safe, dry place to work. We may reschedule if conditions are unsafe.
- Tell us about previous modifications, crashes or water damage.
- Riders under 18 need a parent or guardian to book and approve work.
Batteries
We don't open, rebuild or transport battery packs. If we see a battery that is swollen, leaking, cracked or overheating, we'll stop work and recommend it be safely replaced. We aren't responsible for battery failures we didn't cause.
Modifications and the law
We don't remove speed limiters or set up bikes to exceed California's Class 1, 2 or 3 e-bike limits for street use. You're responsible for riding your bike legally.
Cancellations and missed visits
- Cancel or reschedule for free with at least 2 hours' notice.
- If we arrive and can't reach the bike, or you cancel with less than 2 hours' notice, the $25 trip fee applies.
- If we're running late, we'll text you. If we have to cancel, there's no charge to you.
Labor warranty
All labor is covered for 30 days from the repair date. If something we fixed fails because of our work, we'll come back and fix it at no charge, including the trip fee.
The warranty doesn't cover new damage from crashes, misuse, water or later modifications, normal wear like brake pads and tires, or parts you supplied. New parts carry their manufacturer's warranty, and we'll help you file claims.
Payment
We accept cash, Apple Pay, Venmo and Zelle. We don't accept credit or debit cards at this time.
- When you're there: payment is due on the spot when the job is done, before we leave.
- Unattended repairs: you pay the approved quote up front by Apple Pay, Venmo or Zelle. We don't start unattended work until it's paid.
- Special-order parts: paid in full before we order them.
- Unpaid balances: if a balance isn't paid within 7 days, we may refuse future bookings and pursue it through small claims court.
Liability
We take care to do every job right. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim about a repair is limited to the amount you paid for that repair. We aren't liable for indirect losses, like missed work or a rental bike. Nothing here limits rights you have under California law that can't be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a new effective date. The terms in place when you approved your quote apply to that job.
